The Tweed is the largest, admission free, art museum north of the Twin Cities.  The Tweed has a collection of over 6000 objects from a wide range of cultures and histories, including many famous artists.  In addition the Tweed owns the Potlach Collection of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Illustrations.

The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis is known for presenting innovative contemporary art, and adjacent to the Walker is the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, one of the nation's largest urban sculpture parks.
